First Wind secures $376M for Utah farm - Business First of Louisville:

Newton, Mass.-based First Wind worked with a syndicat of banks lead by the to arrangre the financing for the 203 megawat t wind farmin Milford, Utah. “This is a significantg accomplishment for First Wind and an importany milestone for the first phase of ourMilford project, for whichh we hope to continue to develop additional capacityt over the coming years,” said Paul CEO of First Wind, in a statement.
“To obtain this kind of financinb in these challenging credit markets is a testament to the project and the commitment of our including , our landowner group includingy the Bureau of Land Management and the States of Utah, our contractor and our host counties of Beaver and and of course our Financing for large construction projects has been difficultg to secure, with some of the leadingh banks in renewable energu development loans struggling with liquidity issues. First Wind had worker with now-bankrupt on past projects. When the Milford I project will beFirst Wind’ds largest project with a total of 97 turbines generating between 1.5 megawatts and 2.
5 megawattzs of power each. Construction on the wind farm beganb inlate March. The company expects to beginm erecting wind turbines this summer and completde the project by the end ofthe year.
