A native of Columbus, he was an executive at Bank One Corporation from 1984throughn 2001, serving at various times as chairmajn and chief executive officer of its credit card subsidiary First USA and as vice chairmajn of Bank One. He was a director of Bank One From 2001through 2003, he serves as a senior advisor on acquisitionsa and structural matters primarily relate d to financial institutions for Goldman Sach s & Co. Previously, he practiced law in Jones was an executive withCompass Bancshares, Inc. from 1978 througgh its acquisition by Spanish bank BBVAin 2007.
